Our history

ICF was originally created in 2019 to raise US support for projects funded by the International Conservation Fund of Canada (ICFC).

We continue to raise funds for those projects as well as new ones. ICFC was formed in 2007 by Anne Lambert and Tom Welch to enable Canadians to donate to tropical biodiversity conservation. It now supports work in 28 countries in Latin America, Africa and Asia, and serves as an example of how we as individuals can make a real difference.

The Kayapo Project was the first ICFC project and to this day is ICFC’s flagship project, and one of the most succesful conservation stories in the world.
